Web Design Dover
Most people only see Dover from the A2 on the way to a ferry. That's their loss. The castle alone is one of the most extraordinary places in England. There's a lot going on in Dover that doesn't make the travel pages, and local businesses here deserve to be found for it.
Web design in Dover
Dover Castle has been in continuous use for roughly two thousand years. The Romans built a lighthouse there. The Normans built the keep. In the Second World War, the tunnels cut into the cliffs became the headquarters for the Dunkirk evacuation. It's a place where each layer of history sits directly on top of the last, and most people who visit don't quite realise the scale of what they're standing in. People I know from outside Kent are genuinely surprised when I tell them how significant it is.
The town itself gets written off more than it should. The port changed in ways that hurt the town centre, and the transit traffic just drives through. But Dover has a resilience and a real community underneath all of that. Samphire Hoe, the nature reserve created from the chalk excavated during the Channel Tunnel works, is quietly beautiful: a flat strip of reclaimed land at the base of the cliffs that's popular with walkers and an unexpectedly good place to clear your head. The White Cliffs are genuinely iconic in a way very few things in England are.
Underneath all the transit traffic there are proper local businesses, and businesses here that deserve to be properly visible online. I build websites for Dover businesses that want to be found by local customers, by tourists who are actually stopping, and by the wider district. Fast, well built, and set up for local search.
