Web Design Gravesend

Gravesend was once ranked "Britain's most miserable town." Locals thought that was hilarious. "Whoever said that doesn't know what they're talking about - they're not from here." The town's words, not mine. They have a point.

Web design in Gravesend

Spend an afternoon in Gravesend and the picture is different from the reputation. The Thames is right there - riverside walks, views across to Tilbury, the town pier jutting out into the estuary. It's one of only two piers in the area, and locals are protective of them in that way people get protective of things they're told aren't good enough. Pocahontas died here in 1617 on her way back to America; there's a bronze statue of her in the churchyard of St George's that catches people off guard when they find it. The town pier itself, built in 1834, was the world's first purpose-built cast-iron pier.

People who actually live there describe it as warm, unpretentious, and more interesting than outsiders assume. The food scene is genuinely varied - rooted in the town's long history as a trading port on the Thames. A journalist who visited described it as feeling like home. That kind of response isn't something you can manufacture. Gravesend has a real community identity, and the residents who push back on its negative reputation do so with a confidence that only comes from actually knowing a place.

Ebbsfleet International is just down the road with high-speed rail to St Pancras in 17 minutes, which has brought new investment and a wave of residents with high expectations for local services. I work with businesses across Gravesend and north-west Kent, building websites that are fast, credible, and properly visible in local search.
