UI/UX Design

Design that works before it looks good.

UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) are often used interchangeably, but they describe different parts of the same problem. UX is about how a site works: the flow between pages, the structure of information, how easy it is to complete a task. UI is about how it looks: typography, colour, spacing, visual hierarchy.

Good design starts with UX. A beautiful site that confuses users is a failed site. The visual layer is applied on top of a structure that has already been validated - navigation that makes sense, forms that ask the right questions in the right order, calls-to-action that are visible and clear.

What is included

  • User journey mapping for key tasks (enquiry, purchase, booking, contact)
  • Wireframes showing page structure before any visual design
  • High-fidelity designs in Figma with full component library
  • Interactive prototypes for client review and user testing
  • Responsive design for mobile, tablet, and desktop breakpoints
  • Design system documentation: colours, typography, spacing, components
  • Developer-ready handoff with CSS values and asset exports

How it works

1

Research

We establish what users need to do on the site and what barriers currently exist.

2

Wireframes

Page structure and information hierarchy are mapped out before any visual design decisions.

3

Visual design

High-fidelity designs are produced in Figma. Typography, colour, and spacing are all specified.

4

Prototype

Interactive prototype allows the design to be clicked through and reviewed realistically.

5

Handoff

Figma dev mode exports CSS values, spacing measurements, and assets directly to the development team.

Why it matters

Skipping the design stage and going straight to development usually costs more in the long run. Changes at the design stage take minutes. The same change in a built component takes hours. A proper design process also surfaces assumptions early - before they are baked into code.

What you get

  • Problems are identified and fixed at design stage, not during development
  • Consistent visual language across every page through a shared component library
  • Prototypes allow realistic review before any development investment
  • Smooth developer handoff with precise specifications rather than vague mockups
